Phoenix’s Global Sourcing
program focuses on the indirect items (fixtures,
equipment, supply items) utilized in retail stores.
For this program, Phoenix becomes the vendor for these
items, and supplies the items directly to the retailer.
The basis of this model is very simple – understand what
items the retailer is currently purchasing, source the
item from an overseas supplier, then sell the item
directly to the retailer. Phoenix utilizes it’s
current logistics infrastructure to import the items at
a very low cost. Phoenix imports hundreds of
containers each month for current suppliers, so Phoenix
can utilize existing container space to transport Global
Sourcing items, which makes it economical for our retail
customers to globally source items in smaller
quantities. Many indirect purchasing agents in the
retail industry face barriers for purchasing items
internationally: lead times, quotation turn-around
times, accounting constraints, time, and general
resources, to name a few. Phoenix’s Global
Sourcing program removes these barriers for retailers,
as Phoenix assumes the risk, and affords retailers an
opportunity to gain the cost advantages of Global
Sourcing, but with the hometown customer service of a
domestic supplier. Customers include both large

I have always heard that
sourcing from China is very risky due to quality
concerns. How do I mitigate this risk?
For any
item that Phoenix provides, Phoenix assumes all of the
risk.
